Information for Parents

Dear Parents & Guardians,

We are pleased to inform you that our schools will be implementing a new provision available to all schools which will be participating in a pilot program with the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

What does this mean for you and your child(ren)?

All enrolled students in our school district, regardless of income level, are eligible to receive a healthy school breakfast and school lunch at no charge each day. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application.

While a meal application is not required to receive meal benefits, each household is encouraged to completed a socio- economic form to ensure the maximum funding is available for each of our schools and classrooms. If you have not completed this form, please contact your school’s front office.

The CEP is a new alternative to the traditional meal application process associated with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. CEP alleviates the burden on families by eliminating household applications, while helping schools reduce costs associated with collecting and processing those applications.

The cafeteria will still have the option for students to purchase a la cart items such as an entrée or snack. In order to do this the student must have money in their account.

You can always bring money personally or send it with your student. Please place it in an envelope marked clearly with your student's name, their ID #, their teacher's name, the $ amount and the check #. Turn in monies to the school office or you can place it directly thru My School Bucks (see attached)

If we can be of any further assistance regarding CEP or the meal program, please contact us at:

Sincerely,

Parents:

The cafeteria personnel will not be accepting payment for your child’s cafeteria/lunch account. Please send your child’s cafeteria payment to your child’s campus office or Central Office.

Also, if you plan on having lunch with your child, please go to your child’s campus office or Central Office to make a payment.  You will be given a receipt to present to the cafeteria lunch line clerk. Due to State Auditing guidelines, you will not be allowed to charge to your child’s cafeteria/lunch account.  Your cooperation with this matter is greatly appreciated.
