Mrs. Robin Schwandner

I look forward to guiding my students through the wonders of World History beginning with the dawn of creation through the here and now. We have a lot of times and places to visit along the way but I hope that it will be a magical experience and will lead to a love of History that will extend a lifetime.
We will study the prehistoric era, paleolithic, mesolithic & neolithic eras, ancient & classical eras, medieval & renaissance era, revolutions & world wars, cold war and modern eras throughout the year. All students will be required to complete 2-3 major projects including the Annual World History Medieval Faire.
Classes will be immersive and require students to participate fully to be successful. In late Spring, we go on our annual trip to the Holocaust Museum in San Antonio where we will meet and speak with a Holocaust survivor. We also will go to the War of the Pacific Museum in Fredericksburg. If in person trips are not available then we will engage in virtual experiences.
I also teach Yearbook Journalism where we will be creative designers of the Brackett ISD yearbook. Our job is to take and collect photos, create layouts and chronicle the story of the year. Putting together a yearbook gives the students on staff valuable experience that translates into real world marketable skills.
Last but not least, I coach the Tiger Paws Drill Team and Band Auxiliary. The students learn baton, flag, dance and other performance skills to enhance the Tiger Band halftime show. The team members also perform at pep rallies, parades and competitions. Our ensembles and soloists have been State UIL qualifiers for 9 years straight!!!
I am a proud alumni of Brackett High School. I graduated Valedictorian in 1987, was the Feature Twirler and met the Love of my Life at BHS.
My husband Marcus (BHS 1985) and I were married in 1990 and we have 6 wonderful kids. Our oldest, Kristin (Permian HS 2012) lives and works in the culinary field in Fredericksburg, TX. Marissa (BHS 2013) is a WTAMU graduate and is the AV Tech, Graphic Design, Yearbook & Newspaper teacher at MVHS in Castroville, Dalton (BHS 2015) is a police officer at the Del Rio PD, Mason (class of 2023) just graduated and is working at the Ranch Supply, Matthew (class of 2026) is in 10th & Tayla (class of 2028) is in 8th. All of our children are accomplished musicians and scholars. We are so very proud!!! Being graduates of BHS has served us well over the years and through college and careers. We left for awhile but returned home July 2012 to give our kids the great experiences that we had growing up in this community.
