ELEMENTARY MUSIC TEACHER / ASSISTANT BAND DIRECTOR

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the music program assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. / Assist the director with managing the instrumental music and band program at assigned campus. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth and provide an opportunity to participate in extracurricular band.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of overall operation of instrumental music program
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience:

At least one-year student teaching or approved internship
