Back to School Letter from the Superintendent
August 16, 2023
Dear Brackett ISD Families,
I would like to personally welcome all students, staff and families to the 23-24 school year. It is going to be a great year! On August 17th, we mark the first day of school, a milestone for students and parents alike, whether it be the “last first day of high school” for our seniors, or first day for our PreK, Kindergartners or transfer students. No matter where you are on your learning journey at Brackett ISD, you are a part of a school district that cares about students, and that provides a positive, safe and motivational environment for successful learning.
We have come together as a district to plan and prepare for an amazing year! ONE DISTRICT ONE TEAM. Working as a team is what makes us special – we are a family which includes our parents and community members.
One of our goals this year is to ensure that every student attends school regularly. Being absent negatively impacts learning and so we need your help in making this a top priority. Parents and families play a huge role in promoting student attendance; teachers, administrators, and counselors can offer student support and programs to improve attendance, but parent involvement makes all the difference in ensuring regular student attendance. Good attendance is critical to academic achievement. Together we can make school attendance a priority so that all our students achieve success!!! We can’t wait to have your children in our schools on day one and every school day after that.
School Safety will continue to be a top priority for our district as well. We will continue to follow our school safety procedures. In addition, I want to remind parents and community members to be alert drivers at all times, BUT especially around school zones. Please don’t text and drive, please don’t speed and please just be mindful of our students and staff who are walking in parking lots and across the street.
As we begin this new school year, I cannot adequately express how fortunate I feel to be part of such a wonderful school district and community. It is an honor for me to serve the students, parents and the Brackett ISD community. We have the capacity to do amazing things and we will. I wish all our students and their families a successful, happy and safe school year. Go TIGERS AND TIGERETTES!
Sincerely,
Eliza Diaz
