San Angelo

A San Angelo native, Coach Stokes has a BA in Political Science from Angelo State University. This will be his eight year in education after three years as the head football and basketball coach at Lohn High School followed by three years coaching football and baseball at Pecos High School. He believes in having a strong work ethic, shaping students’ character, and helping them to navigate through the challenges of an ever-changing world.

Before entering the realm of education, he spent over a decade working in and around the Texas Capitol, serving in leadership roles such as Chief of Staff, Committee Director, and Lobbyist before pursuing his childhood dream of coaching. An avid outdoorsman, Coach Stokes enjoys fishing and hunting in his spare time. Coach stokes will become a part of our community bringing along his family, Ms. Tonya Martinez, also a schoolteacher, a daughter, son, and their Labrador Retriever Pepper.
