Library Programs & Resources

The Heart of Learning

Our mission is to help every student become a lifelong learner and responsible citizen by providing welcoming spaces, rich resources, and strong learning experiences that build the skills needed to succeed. We align our work with the Texas School Library Standards and collaborate closely with teachers to support classroom learning.

What We Provide

  • Balanced collections: Print and digital books, audiobooks, and research tools for every grade level and interest.

  • Ready-to-use resources: Materials are curated, organized, and maintained for easy access.

  • Welcoming spaces: Zones for quiet reading, collaboration, creation, and small-group instruction.

  • Flexible scheduling: Library visits, lessons, and activities that fit the needs of students and teachers.

  • Reading culture: Programs and instruction that promote a love of reading for both enjoyment and academic growth.

  • Curriculum support: Lessons and resources tied to TEKS, information literacy, media literacy, and research skills.

For Students

  • Find a great read: Help choosing books by interest and level; access to ebooks and audiobooks.

  • Learn with confidence: Mini-lessons on research, citations, digital citizenship, and avoiding misinformation.

  • Create & explore: Makerspace tools, inquiry projects, and enrichment activities.

For Teachers

  • Collaborative planning: Co-design lessons that integrate reading, research, and media literacy.

  • Resource curation: Custom book bins, text sets, and database pathfinders aligned to your unit.

  • Flexible access: Schedule whole-class visits, small groups, or checkout support when it works for you.

Spaces & Technology

  • Reading zones: Cozy areas for independent reading.

  • Collaboration tables: Small-group work and guided instruction.

  • Creation areas: Makerspace/creation carts (as available).

  • Devices & printing: Support for research, presentations, and projects.

Using the Library

  • Hours: 2nd Period through 9th Period 

  • Checkouts: 4 per Month

  • Fines/Fees: No overdue fines; lost/damaged items may incur replacement cost.

  • Behavior & care: Be kind, use indoor voices, and care for materials so others can enjoy them.

Ashley Sandoval

Mrs. Ashley Sandoval is the friendly face behind our school library. She is passionate about creating a welcoming and engaging space where students can explore books, discover new ideas, and grow as independent learners. With a strong commitment to literacy and learning, Mrs. Sandoval supports both students and staff in finding the right resources, building research skills, and fostering a lifelong love of reading.
