Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Throughout September, BISD stands with children and families affected by cancer. The gold ribbon symbolizes awareness, support, and hope. We invite our students, staff, and families to “Go Gold” and participate in campus activities that build understanding and show care for our community.
How You Can Participate
- Wear Gold: Add gold to your outfits on Fridays in September to show support.
- Spread Awareness: Start a conversation about early signs, support systems, and how classmates can be good friends to peers who are in treatment or remission.
- Support Locally: Check with your campus office about any fundraisers or donation drives supporting families or recognized organizations.
- Learn Together: Teachers will share age-appropriate resources about empathy, resilience, and health.
Game Day Note (Optional): At Friday night’s home game, we encourage fans to wear gold. Look for awareness announcements and moments of recognition before kickoff.
Thank You
Thank you for helping BISD create a caring environment for every student. Your participation, big or small… makes a difference.
